LIBRARIANS' COMMENTS

The author through Martina's story illustrates very candidly the typical way of life in the innercity communities in Jamaica. The protagonist's strong will character shows that with determination, perseverance and ambition, one can overcome class barriers and defy the odds through education and sports.
