ABOUT
THE BOOK
|
| Lucia
Sartori is the most beautiful girl in Greenwich Village. Never short of
suitors, she is sought after as a potential wife by the best Italian families
in New York. But it is 1950, a time of great opportunity for ambitious girls
with dreams of a career, and Lucia is no exception. She has a glamorous
job in a chic Fifth Avenue department store, which she's not yet ready to
swap for a role as wife. Until a handsome stranger comes into her life and she falls desperately and passionately in love at first sight. But in order to be together, they must first win over her traditional family. Their love affair takes an unexpected turn as secrets are revealed, Lucia's family honour is tested, and her own reputation becomes the centre of a sizzling scandal. |
