ABOUT
THE BOOK
|
| On
a hot July day the streets of Colombo explode into frenzied violence. Mobs
begin to hunt and murder their neighbours, and burn and loot their property.
By the end of the day all of the residents of one peaceful district will
have their lives changed forever. Priyanthi Silva and her brother grow up in the beautiful Araliya Gardens, but when she falls in love with the neighbour's young son, the match is unthinkable to both their families and to a society riven with ethnic divisions. And the dark secret the youngsters have been hiding leads to betrayal and tragedy, as an inferno of hatred overcomes the district. |
