ABOUT THE BOOK
South Africa 1945. Colonel Willem Stewart de Veer breaks the taboo of the straight-laced society and marries a coloured woman. His own family declares war on him. But twenty years later, in this land of strange loves and hates, destiny brings the families together. This time, the choice is clear. It is not about colour; it is about the struggle.
Sisa Moshesh Stewart and his cousin Johan de Veer, despite their immense differences, are brought together by fate. They must rally forces behind them that will see the end of apartheid. But they must first reckon with the head of the de Veer family, Paulus de Veer and a few like-minded diehards, who are not prepared to give in, no matter what the cost.
