Romesh Gunesekera grew up in Sri Lanka and now lives in London. His first novel, Reef, was shortlisted for both the Booker Prize and the Guardian Fiction Prize in 1994, was winner of the Yorkshire Post Best First work, and was nominated for the 1996 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. In 1997, it was awarded the Premio Mondello in Italy. He is also the author of a collection of stories, Monkfish Moon, which was shortlisted for a Commonwealth Writers Prize as well as being a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. |
